Vendor OpportunitiesThe Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge organizing committee is seeking vendors for the festival tent at this signature fund-raiser for Special Olympics Maryland, scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Sandy Point State Park. The festival tent is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendors are being accepted in three overall categories: artist, commercial and food. Vendor fees vary depending on the category, but standard booth set-up includes a 10’ x 10’ space, with a table and two (2) chairs. While the Plunge is largely an outdoor event, vendor spaces are housed within a huge heated tent erected on the grounds of Sandy Point State Park. The cost of this opportunity varies based on the product – see application for details. Space is limited and on a first come, first serve basis. We will do our best to provide product exclusivity, and you will be notified upon receipt of application. Titled the Aerotek Plungapalooza ‘09 featuring the MSP Polar Bear Plunge XIII, organizers are placing an even greater emphasis on the festival side of the event in 2009, promoting it heavily as an entertainment option for Plungers and non-Plungers alike. With 10,000 Plungers braving the Bay in January, it is estimated that 20,000 total people attended the 12th Annual MSP Polar Bear Plunge. Between the elements and the exciting offerings such as live music and pig racing, the bulk of the crowd does make the festival tent part of the overall Plunge experience. Other attractions at Aerotek Plungapalooza ’09 include live music, boardwalk-style games and activities, a Plunge Food Court, live pig-racing action, a children’s corner and even the crowning of both Miss and Little Miss Polar Bear Plunge. The bulk of these activities are scheduled for inside the festival tent. With unprecented media support from WBAL-TV Ch. 11, 98 Rock, WBAL-AM, Comcast-Chesapeake Bay Group and the Baltimore Sun, the 2009 Plunge will provide your company with a great promotional opportunity and a chance to help over 10,000 Maryland athletes with intellectual disabilities. Come join us and be a part of one of the largest fund raising events in Maryland all for the benefit of Special Olympics Maryland. The Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge is one of the most successful fund-raisers in Maryland, earning $3.5 million for the athletes in Special Olympics Maryland earlier this year. The event will take place on Saturday, January 24. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and Plunges will take place at both 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Important Note to VendorsAll Vendors are required to submit proof of Insurance prior to move-in.
